Project Description

The herbs in these breadcrumbs add another dimension of flavour to your recipes that will keep you coming back! Use fresh or bake them for a crispier crumb. You will never settle for plain breadcrumbs again.

Ingredients:

• 6 slices of white bread, crusts and all, ripped up (I use Dempsters white with fibre)
• 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
• 1/4 cup coarsely chopped parsley
• 3 cloves of garlic, coarsely chopped

  1. Place all of the ingredients in a food processor. Run the until the bread and all the other ingredients are finely chopped and well mixed.
  2. Pour into an air tight container and keep in the refrigerator.

How easy was that?!

Note: For a crunchier breadcrumb, place a layer of the fresh breadcrumbs on a baking sheet and bake at 350 F until the bread starts to turn golden in colour. Cool and store in an air-tight container in the cupboard.

These are so simple to make that they can be made whenever you  have 10-15 minutes of time. Take note whenever a recipe calls for these breadcrumbs and make sure you whip them up a couple of days ahead of time. Not only will the breadcrumbs be just another ingredient to simply add in, but the flavours will have melded and intensified.

Use these wherever breadcrumbs are called for. Recipes in this site that call for this herbed breadcrumb include:
